About Recycled Glass

Rescuing bottles destined for landfill, Bottle Alley Glass cleans and crushes these bottles before thermally forming new and unique recycled glass.

On average, each household in the UK uses 331 glass bottles and jars a year.  Recycling rather than disposing of them, would save enough energy to power a computer for five days.

Bottle Alley glass believes in saving these glass bottles and giving them a new life as a much loved and adored kitchen worktop, bathroom tile, backlit splashback or coffee table.

All the glass we use would normally end up in landfill.  We take these bottles and sort them in to colours before cleaning, de-labelling and crushing them.  The crushed pieces are called cullet and form the beautiful pattern to our glass.  The crushed pieces are then annealed in a large kiln to form our recycled glass products.

Every time we recycled a glass bottle we are saving enough energy to run a TV for 1.5 hours.

Once the glass has cooled it is then trimmed and cut down to the final size, from large worktops to individual tiles. The edges are then polished to create the finished piece.
